April ’18: Volunteering

As Freemasons we are often called upon for support by emptying our pockets which is faithfully applied to good causes, but what about giving up something even more valuable? Your time.

We are delighted to announce that, for our April event, we’re teaming up with CHESS (Churches Homeless Emergency Support Scheme) to assist them at their office in Chelmsford. CHESS seeks to relieve homelessness and related hardship and distress amongst single adults in Chelmsford and Essex, through the provision of support services and temporary accommodation that helps them move on in their lives. With homelessness on the rise in the UK we have a opportunity to support those less fortunate than us.
So we are looking for volunteers from our great club to give up a few hours on a Saturday to come along to the CHESS headquarters to apply some TLC to their gardens, offices and ‘move on’ homes for the homeless. The day will involve clearing and tidying up their garden spaces, decorating offices and accommodation all with the purpose of making these spaces more welcoming and comfortable for those that work for CHESS and those that depend on them.
