Throughout the year Essex Cornerstone will play host to many fantastic events, covering a range of social and Masonic activities.
After the success of our anniversary dinner at the Ivy, we are bringing you another fun and exciting experience. All are welcome to come and join us on the evening of 20th February, for a drink with the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town.
One of East London’s latest secret drinking dens. It’s not the most obvious location, behind the fridge door in The Breakfast Club restaurant, is a part of this local bar’s charm!
Hidden behind a Smeg fridge, and accessible thanks to a cheeky request to see ‘The Mayor’ at the Breakfast Club bar, descend the stairs into a basement filled with fun, food and great drinks. A broody basement of vintage furniture and Canadian whisky lodge meets speakeasy, Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town is an elusive romp away from the bustle of upstairs.
No booking is required for this event, just drop in as you can, we will be glad to meet you! We will be there from 5.30pm and have an area reserved just for us, feel free to invite other Masons or friends too!
Use the booking form below, or let us know on social media that you plan to attend.
Full details of the bar can be found at www.themayorofscaredycattown.com

Once again the Essex Cornerstone Club will attend the Provincial Grand lodge of Essex annual meeting at Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, London. If you’re a Master Mason (i.e. taken your Third Degree) you’re eligible to join us on Thursday 22rd March 2018, as we meet on a grand scale. Freemason’s from all across Essex will be present when the Provincial Grand Lodge will be opened at 3.30 p.m, by command of the R.W. Provincial Grand Master, Rodney Lister Bass.
Last year 15 members of the Club were present and a section was reserved on the front row of the balcony. We were even given an honorable mention by the PGM and congratulated us on our formation. A year on and we will be back to watch as our fellow Brethren receive first Provincial appointments and promotions. One of the Cornerstone members was appointed as a Provincial Grand Steward, and will be on active duty. Also our first President, James Tyrrell, will be given an appointment as Provincial Grand Steward, a fantastic honor in recognition of his hard work and dedication to the Craft, and it would be great to support him.
If you are eligible to attend and want to join us, use the booking form below or let us know on social media, it will be great to see you there!
Brethren must be signed in and seated by 3.00pm in the Grand Temple. Seating is by first come, first served basis and is an extremely popular event. Late admission is not allowed so your arrival must be prompt to avoid missing out.
